FOR STARTERS:Â NJCU and Kean both seek its first New Jersey Athletic Conference victories today.
SERIES HISTORY:Â Kean leads, 19-1.
RANKINGS:Â Both teams are unranked. Kean had been listed as high as No. 5 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division IIIÂ South Atlantic region in the second poll of the year (September 9) after a 4-1 start to the season and fifth again on September 16 when it was 6-1. Last week (September 23), Kean was seventh in the region before falling out.

Additionally, on September 9, Kean received five votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll—equivalent to a No. 26 listing in the country. On September 16, with seven votes received, Kean was equivalent to 28
th in the nation.

LOST TEETH: The Cougars fell out of the regional poll this week after dropping its last three games against good competition—Rowan (2-0, September 20), Richard Stockton (1-0 (OT), September 24) and TCNJ (3-0, September 27).

LAST MEETING: On October 2, 2013 in Union, NJ. NJCU was shutout by the Cougars 4-0. Under heavy pressure
Brittany Hoffman finished with 10 saves—at the time her fourth game of double digit stops in 2013. NJCU did not finish with a shot. Kean was ranked No. 10 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III South Athletic Region rankings.
Angie Lopez, Sam Marchetti, Kendyll Stahlin, and Jordyn Bronsky each finished with a goal.
Marchetti and
Stahlin included an assist in their game stats.

LAST TIME OUT: Rutgers University-Camden defeated NJCU on Saturday afternoon, 1-0 in Camden, NJ.  NJCU was outshot 27-2. The lone goal came in the 20
th minute as
Catherine Fiore gave the Raptors the go-ahead goal.
Brittany Hoffman made nine saves and for the second straight outing, set aside a penalty kick.

HOFFMAN HALF GRAND: In the Rutgers-Camden contest,
Brittany Hoffman added another notch to her resume by exceeding 500 career saves. She enters play today with 503 saves, 11 shutouts and 23 wins in her career. She had recorded double digits in saves 22 times in her career and twice this season. She already owns what is believed to be the all-time NCAA Division III record for assists by a goalkeeper (three) and is one keeper helper shy of the all-divisions mark of four, achieved twice before.

SCORELESS STREAK: Kean University has not scored a goal in the last three matches. They have been outscored 6-0 against Rowan University (2-0), Richard Stockton College (1-0), and The College of New Jersey (3-0). The scoreless minutes streak currently stands at 280:11 entering today’s action. Kean’s leading scorer is Sam Marchetti (3 goals).

NJCU SCORELESS DROUGHT: Other than a penalty kick against Sage on September 25, NJCU has not scored in a span of 290:00. NJCU’s last goal was a golden goal in double overtime by
Amanda Filippone on September 17 at Sarah Lawrence.

Laura Bustamante is a two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week winner for the Knights, taking home the honor on September 1 and 15. On September 1 when she was the first-ever ECAC Division III Metro Rookie of the Week.

Sam Marchetti was the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the Cougars in week two (September 8) while
KC Nunez, who has started all 10 games in net for Kean, was the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week the same week.
